How does treatment work?

LISTEN

A detailed discussion about your symptoms, when they started, their duration and their impact on daily life.

ASSESS

An adapted vestibular assessment that may include eye-movement observation, positional tests and balance testing.

REHABILITATE

Specific manoeuvres for identified BPPV or progressive gaze, balance and walking exercises according to your needs.

Sudden vertigo accompanied by unusual symptoms requires prompt medical advice. The assessment determines whether vestibular rehabilitation is appropriate.

Vertigo and balance disorders

The vestibular system in the inner ear contributes to balance and the perception of head movement. Disorders can cause vertigo or unsteadiness. Vestibular rehabilitation aims to improve adaptation and reduce functional discomfort; not every type of vertigo has the same cause.

Understanding positional vertigo (BPPV)

BPPV may be caused by tiny particles moving within the inner ear. Once the disorder has been identified, an appropriate repositioning manoeuvre may be offered.

Assessment before exercise

The evaluation may include eye-movement observation, positional tests and balance tests. It guides treatment and helps determine when medical advice is needed.

Vision, movement and balance

Sessions may include gaze stabilisation, vestibulo-ocular reflex work, gradual habituation to movement and dynamic balance training.

Dedicated university training

Loubna Moudnib holds a university diploma in vertigo in addition to her qualifications in physiotherapy and chiropractic.

Common
questions.

Does vestibular rehabilitation treat every type of vertigo?+

No. Vertigo has different possible causes. Assessment and, when needed, medical advice determine the appropriate care.

What are inner-ear crystals?+

They are tiny particles naturally present in the inner ear. If they move into certain canals, they can cause BPPV.

How many sessions will I need?+

The number depends on the disorder, its duration and your progress. It is discussed after assessment and adjusted during follow-up.

How should I prepare for the first appointment?+

Bring any available reports and note when symptoms appear, how long they last and which movements trigger them.
